{"id":557,"date":"2006-10-08T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2006-10-08T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/article\/americas-presidents-have-a-new-branson-home"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T05:00:00","slug":"americas-presidents-have-a-new-branson-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bransoncourier.com\/?p=557","title":{"rendered":"America&#8217;s Presidents have a new Branson Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><\/span>Branson&rsquo;s &ldquo;American Presidential Museum&rdquo; closed in May of 2006 but most of its collection was purchased by a new not for profit educational organization called the &ldquo;<st1:place w:st=\"on\"><st1:placename w:st=\"on\">National <st1:placetype w:st=\"on\">Center<\/st1:placetype> for Presidential Studies. The museum and gallery collection is operated under the name, &ldquo;<st1:country-region w:st=\"on\">America&rsquo;s Presidency&rdquo; and is located on the top floor of the <st1:place w:st=\"on\"><st1:placename w:st=\"on\">Majestic <st1:placetype w:st=\"on\">Building<\/st1:placetype>, located at the corner of <st1:street w:st=\"on\"><st1:address w:st=\"on\">Gretna Road<\/st1:street> and <st1:street w:st=\"on\"><st1:address w:st=\"on\">Roark Valley Road<\/st1:street>, in the same building houses the Majestic Steak House and Justin Flom&#8217;s Magic Parlor Theater.<\/p>\n<p><span>Stormy Lynn Snow, the CEO and Founder of <span style=\"COLOR: black\">CEO and of the National Center for Presidential Studies said, &ldquo;<\/span>We are so pleased with our new home&rdquo; and that &ldquo;We are going to house here while we raise awareness and funds to grow our museum and collection, and construct our own building and educational center.&rdquo; Storm further stated that, &ldquo;<span style=\"COLOR: black\">We hope to raise enough funding to build a center here in the Ozarks that houses a more expansive collection, classrooms, an auditorium, and research library. The new center would have a special hall for traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian and the Presidential Libraries.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"COLOR: black\"> Although the current museum does not have the mockup of the Presidential plane and the limousine that was in the other museum Storm said that the <\/span>&ldquo;America&rsquo;s Presidency<span style=\"COLOR: black\">&rdquo; museum will &ldquo;<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: Arial\">have more artifacts than before,<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: black\">&rdquo; including a &ldquo;<\/span>a replica Oval Office, significant artifacts from past presidencies, the Documents of Freedom collection, and other antiquities and memorabilia.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Storm said that the museum is opened Monday 12noon until 7pm; Tues-Sat 9am &#8211; 5pm; and closed on Sundays and will have extended hours November and December for &ldquo;Christmas at the White House,&rdquo; a fabulous museum wide exhibit.&rdquo; Admission to &ldquo;<st1:country-region w:st=\"on\"><st1:place w:st=\"on\">America&rsquo;s Presidency<span style=\"COLOR: black\">&rdquo; <\/span>is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, and children 16 and under are free with a paying adult.
