Those wanting to see the 2009 version of a Branson Christmas show should act quickly. A recent article entitled “Time is running out to see Branson 2009 Christmas shows,” published on www.News.Branson.com, reports that the vast majority of Branson’s Christmas shows will be closed by December 19.

Paul Miller, the General Manager for Branson Tourism Center, one of Branson’s largest and most respected vacation planning services and seller of Branson show and attraction tickets and lodging said the closings will take place over a period of time ranging from December 5 through December 19. He points out however, that some of Branson’s most popular Christmas shows such as Andy Williams, The Duttons, Yakov Smirnoff and others will close the earliest.

    Excerpts:

…some of Branson’s most popular Christmas shows such as Andy Williams, Tony Orlando and the Lennon Sisters, The Duttons, Yakov Smirnoff, and Debby Boone will be ending their season between December 5 and the 8. Others including Dino’s Christmas Extravaganza, Spirit of Christmas, The Osmonds, Presleys’ Country Jubilee, Shoji Tabuchi…

He [Miller] points that, although there will be a 50 percent reduction in the total number of shows available in Branson by December 19, current schedules indicate that there will still be a number of major shows open including Acrobats of China, Dixie Stampede, Baldknobbers, Magnificent Variety show, Jim Stafford, Pierce Arrow and others…. “In addition,” Miller said, “most of Branson’s major attractions, including the Butterfly Palace, Titanic, and Silver Dollar City, will be open during the entire Christmas Season.

  • Titanic Branson to close its “Titanic” movie tribute gallery

You’ll have to move quickly to experience Titanic Branson’s exclusive tribute to James Cameron’s movie masterpiece TITANIC. After a successful two-year run, the extraordinary one-of-a-kind exhibit will close January 1, 2010, announces Titanic Museum Attraction owner John Joslyn.

“More than a million visitors have toured our special TITANIC Movie Gallery. If you’re not already among that group—and even if you are—make plans to tour over the holidays before it’s too late,” says Joslyn. “This is the movie that swept the Academy Awards in 1997. It secured an unprecedented niche in Hollywood history after winning 11 Oscars.”

The TITANIC Movie Gallery offers a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes for a glimpse of the film’s hand-crafted props and set pieces and its beautiful costumes, including the famous red-beaded “jump” dress Rose was wearing when Jack kept her from jumping ship early in the film. There’s also the pink “sinking” coat Rose wore while rescuing Jack from the sinking ship, and the magnificent heart-shaped diamond and sapphire necklace that stole the show. Valued at more than $250,000, it boasts 325 diamonds totaling 16 carats that circle a stunning 155-carat sapphire. In addition, visitors are privy to behind-the-scenes videos, photos, provocative on-location stories and the actual shooting script Cameron used.

“During the holidays, we’ll be coming down to the wire as this great exhibit comes to a close. Be sure you catch this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” invites Joslyn, also the expedition leader of the first private exploration dive to Titanic’s wreck site.
The World’s Largest TITANIC Museum Attraction is the #1 permanent year-round family destination in Branson, Missouri. In operation for 3½ years, it has welcomed aboard almost 2,000,000 guests. The 17,000 square-foot ship-shaped structure is built half-scale to the original Titanic and towers more than 100 feet above its anchored position on Highway 76. A 90-minute self-guided or optional audio tour covers 20 galleries on two decks displaying more than 400 priceless artifacts that once belonged to Titanic passengers or crew.

  • Branson Show goers review of 12 Christmas shows

    "Spirit of Christmas."

As Branson, Missouri draws close to the end of its celebration of “50 years of live music shows” it is also celebrating “Ozark Mountain Christmas.” Paul Miller, General Manager for Branson Tourism Center (BTC), says, “Christmas is a special time of the year in Branson and one of the things that makes it special is its great Christmas shows.”

Miller points out that all most all of Branson’s shows incorporate Christmas into their shows, but in different ways. “Some, such as the “Spirit of Christmas,” “Andy Williams Christmas Show,” Toney Orlando and the Lennon Sisters” and “Miracle of Christmas” are primarily Christmas Shows. Most other Branson shows have a hybrid show with the best of their regular season and a Christmas portion. It is quite common to have the best of the regular season in the first half of the show with the second half.

A recent article published on line at www.news.Branson.Com, entitled “Personal capsule reviews of 12 Branson Christmas shows,” provides a personal capsule review of the show by show goers who have actually seen the show and have posted their opinion on line on the “Show Forum of www.1Branson.com. It provides an interesting perspective and covers the following Branson Christmas Shows: #1 Hits Of The 60s, Andy Williams Christmas Show, Charlie Daniels Band, Comedy Jamboree, Clay Cooper’s Country Express, Debbie Boone, Dutton’s, Grand Jubilee, Miracle of Christmas, Pierce Arrow, Presleys’ Country Jubilee and Spirit of Christmas

Miller again reminds potential Branson visitors that Ozark Mountain Christmas is one of the busiest and most special times of the year and recommends advanced reservations for shows and lodging to insure not only availability, but to get the seats and accommodations desired. • Branson won’t be just another Capital Christmas Tree Stop

It won’t be just another “stop” on the way to Washington, D.C. when the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree stops in Branson, Missouri on its way to the U.S. Capital to be displayed with 10,000 handmade ornaments. Paul Miller, General Manager for Branson Tourism Center said that information received from the Branson Lakes/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce says that the 85-foot blue spruce from Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests near Alpine, Arizona will “stop” over in Branson and may be seen at 3 p.m. on Nov. 23 in front of the Sight & Sound Theatre located off of Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.

Miller went on to point out however, “The tree’s “stop” in Branson will not be just another ‘stop.’” He said the activities planned in association with the “stop” will provide locals and visitors alike with yet another exciting Branson Christmas activity in addition to all Branson’s shows, attractions, shopping, lighting displays, and other activities connected with Ozark Mountain Christmas.

According to the information, producer Bill Lennon says, “Mayor Raeanne Presley will greet the tree, and there will be entertainment by Yakov Smirnoff, the cast of the Circle B Supper Show, New South, Doug Gabriel, the Haygoods and the Highway 76 Trombones. Also, actors and animals from Sight & Sound’s ‘Miracle of Christmas’ will be on hand.”

  • Branson Tourism Center sells two millionth ticket

A lot of tickets are sold every day to the many shows and attractions found in Branson Missouri, called by some, “The live music show capital of the world.” A recent article published at www.News.Branson.Com entitled “Branson Tourism Center (BTC) reaches two million ticket milestone” indicates that BTC is doing its share to sell many of those tickets.

When Milton and Doris Hughes of Ashland, Kansas stopped by the Branson Tourism Center office to pick up their Branson travel packet, they were surprised to learn that they had purchased BTC’s two millionth ticket and that their whole Branson vacation was being paid for by the Branson Tourism Center in honor of the occasion. In addition, the next ten customers checking in to pick up their travel packets each received a $100 BTC Gift Certificate.

Lianne Milton, the co-owner of Branson Tourism Center said the achievement was the result of the great entertainment product Branson offers and the personal commitment of Branson Tourism Center’s staff to customer service. She said she was as excited about the great personal Branson experiences of families and individuals that the sales of those tickets represented as she was about the actual number of tickets sold.

    Excerpts from article:

(Milton) “Even before our first ticket was sold our philosophy was to build BTC through personal relationships with our vendors and customers to ensure that the customer had a great experience while in Branson. We were going to do that by providing them with the best Branson information, value and personal travel services.”

Milton explained that Branson has many quality shows, attractions and lodging facilities and that the relationships that BTC has built up with them over the years enables them to work together to provide our Branson guests with the best value, show seat and lodging choices and customer service.
