One of the exciting fun acts in the "Acrobats of China" show performed by Ma Aili and it gets higher and more exciting. Simply amazing fun. |
As the Labor Day Weekend winds down and visitors prepare to leave Branson and go back home most realize what Jim Burgett, speaker, frequent traveler, and author realized when he wrote about and videoed Branson, “It is fun!” In the advertisement for his video entitled, “Branson: Magic In The Midwest,” Burgett, who has been to Branson over a dozen times, points out that it is one of the best places to take your family and that although some call it Little Vegas, everyone calls it fun!
He summarizes the main general types of activities available for visitors of all ages from Branson’s shows, its outdoor activities such as championship golfing, fishing boating and camping to its attractions, shopping, museums and theme parks. He points out that the bonus in Branson is that tickets are easy to get and the prices are very reasonable.
Paul Miller, General Manager, Branson Tourism Center, one of Branson’s largest and most respected vacation planning services and sellers of Branson show and attraction tickets and lodging, who is a 12 year veteran in helping Branson visitors said “That’s what the Branson experience is all about, having fun.” Paul pointed out that in Branson there is generally many choices for fun within each type of activity.
“Take fishing for example,” he said. “If you want to fish for Rainbow or Brown Trout there is Lake Taneycomo, one of the finest trout fisheries in the country, but if Large or Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish or other warm water species are your thing, two of the finest warm water fishing lakes in the country, Table Rock and Bull Shoals Lakes are minutes away.”
“Golfing is yet another example of the choices available,” Paul said. “Branson provides golfing fun for every level of play,” He goes on to explain that from courses such as “Holiday Hills,” a more forgiving course, to championship courses such as “Branson Creek,” “Murder Rock,” “Thousand Hills,” and the newly refurbished “Pointe Royale,” there is challenging golfing fun in Branson for every golfer.
He also points out that Branson is sometimes referred to as “The Live Music Show Capital of the World” and for good reason, the fun available to Branson visitors provided by the number and variety of Branson’s shows. From shows like “Peter Pan,” “Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley with Paul Revere & the Raiders,” “Acrobats of China,” Branson’s first show on the strip, “The Presleys’ Country Jubilee,” or Branson’s hottest show at the moment, “SIX,” Branson’s choice of live show fun is hard to beat.
“And the fun of Branson shows doesn’t stop there,” Paul said. There is the magic and comedy of “Hamner and Barber,” the great vocals and comedy of “Pierce Arrow,” the different comedic approaches taken to comedy by “Jim Stafford” or “Yakov,” the outdoor drama “The Shepherd of the Hills,” the biblical grandeur of “Noah the Musical,” the excitement and spectacle of “Dixie Stampede” or the fun and excitement provided by anyone of the up to 75 other shows presented on a daily basis in Branson.
Paul goes on to point out that from Branson’s world class award winning theme park “Silver Dollar City,” to museums from “The World’s Largest Toy Museum” to the “Titanic-the world largest museum attraction,” hiking, biking and a myriad of other attractions and activities there is fun at virtually every turn in Branson. “Nor,” he points out, “Is there any lack of shopping fun.” Shopping opportunities of all types, from the award winning “Branson Landing” on the shores of Lake Taneycomo to quaint specialty shops in its Historic downtown and throughout Branson abound.
In advertising her Branson “Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction” Dolly Parton says, “It is the most fun place to eat in Branson.” In terms of having fun, one could say, “Branson, Missouri is the most fun place to have fun in America.”
