Branson will have “Olympic” quality fireworks display this weekend

A press release published on line at www.news.Branson.com entitled “Branson to have dazzling fireworks displays like none other,” contained information on the fact that the American Pyrotechnics Association (APA) would be holding its Annual Meeting and Convention in Branson during the week of September 26 and would be conducting two major fireworks displays as part of that event. Paul Miller, General Manager of Branson Tourism Center said, “From all I have heard they will be spectacular displays particularly the one out over Table Rock Lake on September 26. I believe it will be one of those displays that we get to see, in person, only at major events like the Olympics.”

The first event will be on Friday, September 25, 2009, when APA members will be firing up the sky at Branson Landing along the beautiful Lake Taneycomo in conjunction with a live concert featuring performances by Clay Cooper & The Clay Cooper Music Express Band with special guest stars Collin Raye, Barbara Fairchild, Dusty Rogers and the Liverpool Legends. At approximately 9:15 p.m. a beautifully orchestrated “close proximity” fireworks display, choreographed to a lively “gaming” theme will be fired followed by a grand fireworks finale on the waterfront fired from a barge featuring a tribute to “Beatles Love.”

On Saturday, September 26 the big signature APA’s fireworks finale, will occur at 9:45 p.m. at Moon Shine Beach (located near Table Rock Dam). It will be fired over Table Rock Lake, in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Table Rock Dam. The Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri Highway Patrol and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers will oversee access and parking in the area.
